The Journey So far....
R.O.O.T.S. is the ladies' ministry within Celebration Ministries International, birthed from a legacy of faith, worship, and discipleship. It all began over 40 years ago in the lounge of Pastor Bonnie Deuschle, where 40 women gathered to grow in God. That humble meeting grew into Covenant Women, a movement that shaped generations of women in purpose and power. Today, R.O.O.T.S. carries that same spirit—grounded in the Word, led by the Spirit, and built on the foundations laid by faithful matriarchs. We are women who are intentional about spiritual growth and godly character. Through discipleship, teaching, and authentic community, we equip women to live rooted, fruitful lives. R.O.O.T.S. stands for Remaining Obedient, Open, Transformed, and Strengthened. We honor our heritage while embracing the future with boldness and faith. R.O.O.T.S. is more than a program—it’s a generational calling. Together, we are becoming women who flourish in every season.
About Pastor Bonnie Deuschle
Co-Founder | Worship Leader | Author | Teacher | Pioneer of Women’s Ministry
Pastor Bonnie Deuschle is the co-founder of Celebration Ministries International, one of the largest and most influential churches in Zimbabwe, which she pastors alongside her husband, Tom Deuschle. A worship leader, award-winning gospel artist, teacher, missionary, and author, Bonnie has dedicated her life to building the Church through worship, discipleship, and empowering others to walk in purpose.
With a heart for worship and deep intimacy with God, she has written and recorded numerous songs that have transformed lives across nations. Her passion for equipping believers is also reflected in her books—The Great Connection and its continuation, The Greater Connection—which serve as foundational texts in the R.O.O.T.S. ladies discipleship program.
More than 40 years ago, Pastor Bonnie pioneered the women’s ministry of Celebration, starting with 40 women gathered in her lounge. That small seed blossomed into what would become Covenant Women, a movement that discipled, trained, and raised up thousands of women across generations. Her vision laid the foundation for what we now know as R.O.O.T.S., a tailored discipleship journey for women, rooted in faith, character, and generational impact.
Together with her husband, Bonnie has raised five children—Tommy, Jonathan, Benjamin, Daniel, and Sarah—and continues to make her home and ministry base in Zimbabwe, Africa. Her life is a living testimony of obedience, legacy, and unwavering commitment to God’s call on women.
